Moonstone is found in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Madagascar, Brazil, Australia and India. The various colors only come from India and the other sources yield white moonstone. 
 
Rainbow Moonstone has translucent white color with a white sheen similar to "moonshine" that rolls or flows over the stone when rotated, hence the name "moonstone." The sheen is caused by light diffraction within layers of feldspar. Generally a creamy translucent white stone, rainbow moonstone features occasional iridescent or multicolored (especially blue) flashes with transparency that ranges from opaque to semitranslucent. Rainbow moonstone is best seen in natural light for play of color. Moonstone has been used in jewelry going back to ancient civilizations. The ideal color is a vivid, even, dark blue color, perhaps with violet undertones. Lapis Lazuli nearly always has some blemishes or inclusions, usually white calcite or golden pyrite, and uniform colored gemstones with fewer inclusions are valued higher.
Pyrite can cause attractive patterns of golden flecks in a deep blue background and if it is not too dense can enhance the appearance and increase the price. White streaks of calcite are quite common and not so attractive so this will lower the value.

The natural coloring of the dendritic agate varies from a whitish-gray to a colorless chalcedony with a tree or plant-like markings. The markings in dendritic agate are called dendrites; they are iron or manganese inclusions. Dendrite patterns display in colors of brown and black. Although these patterns appear to be organic due to their fern and plant-like structure they are inorganic. The inorganic traces are formed by iron or manganese from neighboring crystalized rocks after trickling through the thin surface fractures in the agate.
